Changelog

What's New -- 2026-02-28

What's New

  • Help Center -- The CHIPS Help Center is live at help.getchips.ai. Browse getting-started guides for clients and designers, learn how CHIPS work, understand the tier system, and read through the FAQ. Access it anytime from the Help Center link in your user menu.
  • Changelog -- You're reading it. Every time we ship updates, this changelog is updated automatically so you always know what's new.
  • Guided Onboarding -- New to CHIPS? Interactive walkthroughs now guide you through your first steps -- whether you're posting your first project as a client or claiming your first job as a designer. The tours highlight key features without getting in your way.
  • Claim Window Countdown Timers -- You can now see exactly when projects become available to your tier. Live countdown timers show the remaining wait time, so you know when to come back and claim.

Improvements

  • Accurate Deposit Preview -- The project creation form now shows your actual Good Faith Deposit rate based on your Trust Score. Previously it showed 5% for everyone -- now a new client correctly sees their 7% rate, matching what gets charged when the project is funded.
  • Open Changelog -- The changelog is now publicly accessible. You no longer need to sign in to see what's new.

Fixes

  • Trust Score Consistency -- Fixed a fallback value in project creation that could briefly calculate deposits at the wrong rate before your Trust Score loaded. All defaults now consistently use the correct starting score.

What's New -- 2026-02-27

What's New

  • Simplified Sign-In -- We've migrated to embedded wallets, so you no longer need a browser extension or existing crypto wallet to use CHIPS. Sign in with your email or social account and a wallet is created for you automatically.
  • Smarter Deadline Picker -- Setting your project deadline is now easier with a new dual-mode picker. Choose from quick presets (6 hours, 24 hours, 3 days) or pick an exact date and time. The picker also shows how much time designers will have to complete the work.

Improvements

  • Test Coverage -- Added 21 critical tests covering wallet operations, project creation, escrow flows, and reputation scoring to catch issues before they reach you.

Fixes

  • Authentication Stability -- Fixed an issue where certain database security policies could cause login loops. Sign-in is now more reliable across all account types.
  • Production Deployment -- Resolved environment configuration issues that could cause the app to fail on first load in production. The app now starts reliably every time.

What's New -- 2026-02-26

What's New

  • Invite-Only Access -- CHIPS now uses invite codes for onboarding. You need a valid code to join as a client or designer, keeping the community curated and quality-focused. Admins can generate and manage codes from the Admin Panel.
  • Client Dashboard -- Clients now have a dedicated view on the Projects page showing your active, completed, and cancelled projects at a glance.
  • Marketplace Pulse -- A new Pulse page gives you a real-time view of marketplace health -- active projects, completion rates, average budgets, and top designers. Available to designers and admins.
  • Client Trust Score -- Clients now build a Trust Score based on how they behave on the platform -- approval rates, cancellations, and designer ratings all factor in. Your trust tier (Low Trust, Standard, or High Trust) determines your Good Faith Deposit rate, so reliable clients pay less upfront.
  • Instant Cashout -- Designers can now swap CHIPS for USDC instantly through the built-in Instant Cashout feature. A 0.3% fee applies, with safeguards to prevent large single-swap price impact.
  • Merit Pool -- A portion of every project fee goes into the Merit Pool, which rewards top-performing designers with bonus CHIPS distributions.

Fixes

  • Pricing Display -- Fixed an issue where CHIPS amounts were showing raw token values instead of human-readable numbers throughout the interface.
  • Transaction Tracking -- Payment escrow deposits and commitment deposits are now tracked as separate transactions, giving you clearer visibility into where your CHIPS are going.

What's New -- 2026-02-25

What's New

  • CHIPS Token & Wallet -- You can now connect your wallet and see your CHIPS balance. The CHIPS token is live with a 1:1 USDC peg, and your balance updates in real time as you earn and spend.
  • Full Project Lifecycle -- Post a project, set your budget and deadline, and fund it through payment escrow. Designers can claim projects, submit deliverables, and get paid -- all secured on-chain. If something goes wrong, there are clear paths for cancellation, penalties, and the Auto-Approve Timer that releases funds automatically if you don't review in time.
  • Reputation & Tiers -- Your work history now builds your Reputation score. As your score grows, you move through tiers -- Fresh, Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary -- unlocking higher-value projects, lower commitment deposits, and more concurrent claims. Your progress is visible on your Designer Dashboard.
  • Tier-Gated Claim Windows -- Projects are now released to designers based on tier. Higher-tier designers see projects first, while lower tiers gain access after a short delay. This rewards consistent quality work with better opportunities.
  • Diminishing Returns -- Working with the same client repeatedly now yields less Reputation impact. This encourages designers to diversify and keeps the marketplace competitive.
  • Review Panel -- Disputes between clients and designers are now resolved by a panel of Legendary-tier designers. If a project outcome is contested, the Review Panel reviews the work and makes a binding decision on fund distribution.
  • Safety Pauses -- The marketplace now has automatic safeguards that pause certain operations if unusual activity is detected. This protects both clients and designers from potential issues.
  • Stale Project Recycling -- Projects that sit unclaimed too long are automatically recycled. At 30% of the deadline elapsed, unclaimed projects open to one tier below. At 50%, the project returns to you so you can adjust and repost.

Improvements

  • Verified Credits -- When a project is approved, the designer earns a permanent, non-transferable Verified Credit that proves their work history. These build your professional portfolio on the platform.
